Golf; Mongomeria, the Ryder Cup Captain

Despite suffering a calf muscle injury Colin Mongomeria is determined to play in the Open at St Andrews in July. Mongomeria, the Ryder Cup captain who finished runner up to Tiger Woods in the 2005 Open at St Andrews, qualified for this year’s Championship for the 21st time in a row. After producing a course record equalling 62 at Sunningdale New, to earn himself a place in the Open at St Andrews. Montgomeria has not won a title since the European Open in July 2007.
